Here the poet represents that her mother was not alive and she felt so lonely at that moment that she was unable express anything and she became completely quite that she was silence. She was equal to dumb, her feelings and emotions had died. And the circumstance of her mother death made her silence. There is information, why she was in silence.  Ans: Yes, the poet noticed changes in the mother’s face after she was born. Life had so many ups and downs, which could be because of painful incidents or difficulties faced in life. Age and poor health also made charmless of the face. When poet took photograph to see it was old one. She remembered how her mother looked when she was child. In that photo there were totally three people and two of them were cousins who were younger than her. It might be windy that they were holding their hands and her hair were flying. Their beautiful smile gave a glow that photograph. Poet’s mother had a pretty face, as then time had changed everything and her face also had changed by the course of time. For the poet her mother’s smile had become a thing of the past. Whenever she remembered her mother she would see that photograph.

Ans:  The feet are described as transient feet because it drove back momentary period where everything about life is not lasting for long. A small incident is also transient. If anything is permanent around us is nature. The poem led to transitory nature of life, abrupt unforeseen occurrence is able to also indicate temporary everything. Here in the photograph all three were holding hands when sea washes their terribly transient feet. Here the word “transient” means momentary; not lasting for long.
